Gregory Green moves to the Purple side of town.

Once upon a time, not long ago, just a hop skip and a jump from your neighborhood, there lived a bright and colorful world of PaintBears. The PaintBear world was filled with lots of different neighborhoods. There were bright orange neighborhoods, sunny yellow ones, and they could even boast of a bold blue block.

One day a tall Green PaintBear named Gregory Green was moving into a new house on the other side of town known as the purple side of town. All of the PaintBears on the purple side of town had heard the news that someone was moving into the vacant house on their block. They thought it was another Purple PaintBear as they watched the movers unload lots of things late into the night. Not until the next morning did they see that a Green PaintBear had moved into the neighborhood.

Well, that was quite shocking to see a Green PaintBear in a purple neighborhood? All of the Purple PaintBears heard humors that Green PaintBears were mean, although no one on the purple side of town had ever met a Green PaintBear. No Purple PaintBears would dare to speak to Gregory Green and he became very sad.

Finally, one day a Purple PaintBear named Pauly Purple started thinking that maybe the humors weren’t true. Pauly Purple never saw Gregory Green being mean, nor did he see Gregory Green even look like he was mad at anyone. Pauly Purple was also thinking about what it would be like if he was the only Purple PaintBear living on the green side of town. Pauly Purple thought it would scary and maybe even a little sad if none of the other PaintBears wanted to play with him because he was a Purple PaintBear.

Pauly Purple decided to be brave and go over to Gregory Green’s house. He was nervous as he rang the doorbell but was glad he decided to bring along his favorite cookies. Gregory Green answered the door with a bright smile and invited Pauly Purple inside. Pauly Purple and Gregory Green talked about lots of things and found they had a lot in common. They both liked to laugh, play games and eat homemade chocolate chip cookies. As Pauly Purple walked home he realized how ridiculous he and the other Purple PaintBears were to believe those rumors.

The next day, Pauly Purple told all the other PaintBears how the rumors about Green PaintBears were not true and that he had a wonderful time with Gregory Green. However, none of the Purple PaintBears believed him. Pauly Purple thought quickly. How could he get them to at least meet Gregory Green? Then an idea came to Pauly Purple. Pauly Purple decided to have a party and invite all the Purple PaintBears in his neighborhood. The party would be a welcome party for Gregory Green to the Purple neighborhood. All the Purple PaintBears agreed to come although they were very wary about meeting Gregory Green.

So the next day, Pauly Purple had a big party with lots of homemade chocolate chip cookies. All the PaintBears had a great time. The Purple PaintBears realized Gregory Green was as nice as everyone else. The Purple and Green PaintBears realized that it does not matter what color someone is on the outside, it only matters what they are on the inside. All the PaintBears learned that there are only good and bad PaintBears in every color and they should never judge a PaintBear by their color alone.
